Sri Lanka ETA: the complete guide
Sri Lanka issues an electronic travel authorization that arrives by email within a day or two — and since May 2026 it is free for Israeli passport holders. It is still mandatory before you fly.
What the Sri Lankan ETA is
An electronic tourist entry authorization issued in advance and linked to your passport. It can be used within six months of issue and permits stays of up to 30 days per entry, for up to two entries.

Since 25 May 2026 Sri Lanka has waived the fee for Israeli passport holders — the authorization itself is free. What remains is the handling: $67 per traveller for completion, review, filing and tracking. Any site charging you a Sri Lankan government fee is charging for something that no longer exists.
Extending your stay
Stays can be extended to 90 days at the immigration office in Colombo. The extension carries an additional fee and is arranged in country, not in advance.
